People always ask us for advice on what hotels and condos to reserve for their vacations, getaways, honeymoons, etc. The best way to help you choose a hotel/condo is by looking through our website and checking out the various lodging options and their visitor reviews submitted by people just like you.

There are also three RV parks (a fourth is slated for Winter 2005) available on the Island. The biggest, a 600+ RV space park known as Isla Blanca Park, is one of the most beautiful RV parks in Texas and available at the southern-most point along with the second RV park (known as Destination RV). There is also one more RV park available at the northernmost point, but it is a bit more primitive in amenities and facilities. The majority of the sites are $20.00 per night, $125.00 per week plus a $15.00 electrical deposit, and $299.00 per month plus a $50.00 electrical deposit. However, there are more RV parks just across the bridge in Port Isabel and are generally a bit cheaper (but the Island prices are not bad!). Tents sites are $12.00 per tent per night. These have no utilities but showers and restrooms are in the immediate area. They also have sites that are $17.00 per night per tent that have water and electricity.

There are a few Bed & Breakfast choices on the island, but unfortunately we've never stayed at one. World-of-mouth says that the Brown Pelican Inn and Casa de Siesta are great choices and they also usually get good write-ups in local and national magazines. Check their pages on this site for visitor reviews.

The island is not the only place for lodging. You can find some brand-new hotels in Port Isabel, a town that connects SPI to the mainland with a two-mile long bridge and a magnificent lighthouse that overlooks the Bay. Port Isabel is a small fishing town that is home to local fisherman who sell their catch to local markets and grocery chains for a living and so the party scene is non-existent around here, but prices on beer and other items are generally a bit cheaper than SPI. The local restaurants are to-die for, especially if you dine with the town’s staple item: shrimp and fish.

And, last, but not least, you can still camp out on the beach itself. It’s something that everyone should do in their lifetime, especially at SPI. Camping grounds are available anywhere north of Beach Access 6 in the northern portion of SPI or at Isla Blanca Park, the southernmost point of the Island.
