Packing Tips for an Island Honeymoon
Honeymoons are common finales to
weddings
all around the globe. A honeymoon is a time when the bride and groom get to enjoy their first days as husband and wife while on a fun and luxurious vacation. Popular
honeymoon destinations
include tropical islands. An important part of any trip is smart packing. So if you're heading to a tropical island for your honeymoon, read on for great packing tips!
First of all, less is most always best. Avoid overpacking by determining exactly what you need to bring. For most honeymoons, you'll need the following:
One casual outfit for each day
One dressy outfit for each day
Undergarments for each day
Swimsuit (or two)
Beach cover-up
Flip flops or sandals
Casual shoes like sneakers
Dressy shoes
Beach towels
Sunscreen
Cosmetics / Grooming Supplies
Camera or camcorder
Purse containing currency, credit cards, and travelers checks
Anything more than this would be pushing it! The less you take with you, the less you'll need to replace if your bags are lost or stolen. Plus, lighter bags are easier to carry and keep up with.
By folding each item carefully, you'll ensure that everything stays wrinkle-free and fits into your suitcases. Some people do choose to carry a portable iron with them so that they can get the wrinkles out of clothing after unpacking. There are also handy sprays out there that can help remove wrinkles without ironing.
When packing your cosmetics, skin care, and hair care products, put them into a separate bag so that nothing will leak onto your clothing. Hotels normally provide toiletries like soap and shampoo, but some people choose to bring their own along.
Travelers checks are ideal to use as currency, because they are easily replaced if lost or stolen and accepted almost anywhere. It's probably not a good idea to carry large amounts of currency on your person. Keep a credit card on hand for emergencies.
By packing smart, you can save yourself a lot of time and hassle, leaving you free to enjoy your honeymoon!

The Hotel Texian
