South Padre Island Rules and Reminders

South Padre Island is the place to be during Spring Break 2005. Thousands and thousands of people will be having a good time, and lets face it, Spring Break is the stuff that memories and lawn chair stories are made. But, only YOU can ensure a fun filled vacation if you take care of yourself. Be responsible. Stay smart. And, most importantly, use common sense. A really big party like Spring Break comes with risks. To protect the Island residents and yourself, there's going to be lots of law enforcement around. The last thing you want to do is do something stupid and have your entire vacation ruined.

Here are a few reminders:

  • You've heard this before and you'll hear it again, especially in Texas: DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE! This is a sure-fire way to ruin your Spring Break if you get caught.
  • While drinking alcohol on the beach is allowed, you may not use glass containers.
  • Alcohol causes dehydration. Drink lots of water.
  • The drinking age in Texas is 21. The drinking age in Mexico is 18. But, when you cross back over to the U.S., you can't be drinking 'no more. Common sense.
  • Zero Tolerance On Drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not cool anyways.
  • Do not swim after drinking too many tall ones. Bad mix.
  • Wear plenty of sunshade on the beach or you'll be on the menu at a local seafood restaurant.
  • Do not litter on the beach. The fine is more than you think. Way more.
  • No driving on sand dunes. $500 fine. No ATVs allowed on beach, but dune buggies are okay.
  • No ties on South Padre Island. No ties. No ties. No ties. T-shirts yes. No ties.
  • No homework allowed.

Alright guys, lets go have fun!!! This is the time of your life. Cherish it. Remember it. Enjoy it. Rock it. But, most importantly, relax a bit, ok? Enjoy the beach.

See ya at the bar.
